We’re still just about a year away from when Wrestlemania 37 is set to take place in Los Angeles. It seems there’s growing concern that ‘The Showcase of Immortals’ could be impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic.
LATimes.com obtained an internal Los Angeles Fire Department email and it was noted that “large gatherings such as concerts and sporting events may not be approved in the city for at least 1 year.”
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti confirmed that there is talk about postponing large events until 2021:
“It’s difficult to imagine us getting together in the thousands anytime soon. We’ve got many, many miles to walk before we’re going to be back in those environments.”
California Governor Gavin Newsom stated the following regarding when large events can resume:
“The prospect of mass gatherings is negligible at best until we get to herd immunity and we get to a vaccine.”
SoFi Stadium, which is scheduled to host Wrestlemania 37 on March 28th, is still under construction despite the pandemic but it’s unknown if the stadium will open on July 25th as originally scheduled.
We’ll keep you posted as more information comes out on this subject.
